There's nothing like lying in bed all day Saturday watching Netflix and feeling your brain turn to mush. It's relaxing, therapeutic and a weekly necessity in college life; so the next time you're about to go on a Gossip Girl, Gotham, Jessica Jones, orSkins bender, remember these tip to make the most out of the time you've got.

1. Have snacks handy.

There is literally nothing worse than having to pause your show to get a snack, or a drink. Keep them on hand and near you so that all it takes for some gummy worse, or some peanut butter is a simple adjustment of the sheets.

2. Plan for it.

While I am a firm advocate for spur of the moment Netflix days, build one into the week so that you don't beat yourself up or feel like a garbage person for eating all the left over halloween candy, or literally not leaving the bed.

3. Turn your phone off.

Or at least on silent. Get away from everyone and just let your brain melt. I know that sounds weird, but sometimes, you just need to be a vegetable.

4. Cancel all plans—or at least move them around.

If you've decided to spend the morning in bed watching Netflix, you and I both know that you're not going to get up at 4 p.m. to go do some random thing with people who aren't as cool as Netflix.

5. For every bathroom break you take, stretch.

Trust me, this one is a life saver. Your butt will thank you later.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
