We all get caught up in the whirlwind at the end of the semester leaving us in awkward schoolwork situations. "I have this exam next week, but I also have this 10-page paper due..." Well here are some quicks tips to try to avoid situations like that during this crucial time that makes or breaks your GPA.

1. Plan your time.

Whether you use a planner or make a to-do list, planning out your time is the best method to use during this time of year. It sounds a lot easier than it actually is, but learning how to break down your time helps get rid of unnecessary stress. I personally started using a to-do list this semester and it's done wonders for me

2. Don't cram!!!

It's been scientifically proven that cramming is the WORST way to study. Google it if you don't believe me. You lose out on the whole day before your exam, you create a bunch of unnecessary stress for yourself, and you usually miss out on sleep. Save yourself the trouble and space out your studying. You remember more and it's a lot more enjoyable.

3. Remember to treat yourself.

When working on something hard, such as studying, you should always remember to treat yourself in some way, shape, or form. It could be taking a 5-minute break or having some candy. Anything that fits your style of a "treat" should be used. Because if you don't treat yourself, you're just going to end up burning yourself out.

4. Get a study group.

Forming a study group may be one of the hardest things to do in college if you're not a social person... but it's also one of the most rewarding when you do form one. Having a study group helps you to receive additional help on problems you may be having. One of the worst feelings to have in school is having a question when doing work and no one is around to answer it. It's also a great way to work on your social skills for later in life. We all need help in something, might as well get good at asking for help.

5. Ask your professor for help.

This one may seem too obvious, but a lot of students don't use it. What better source to study than the person who makes the test? Now some people have professors who are evil and won't offer any additional assistance, but the majority of us have professors who are willing to give extra help after you send out that email. Besides, if a professor can see that you're actually trying, more than likely they'll boost your grade up an extra point or two.

Hopefully these tips will help you get ready for the most important time of the school year. Happy studies.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
