What Music Discovery Can Lead You To

What is music? Music can be described in many different ways. Music for someone can be an inspiration, something you do for a pass time or it can be used as a way to express yourself in this musical world. Music consists of important key features that distinguish it from just an ordinary sound or noise. Music consists of rhythm, melody, and harmony to create musical texture and musical form. Most of us have a musical genre preference and though they can be different from our peers they consist of all these terms that let your music preference product be classified music.

A place to begin

Essentially in your search for your new beat or something you can share with your friends or keep to yourself begins with your current music preference. I know this seems like a very simple task... and it is but some tips can't hurt you on your search. In my own experience, searching for new music has been a difficult task because I'm particular about what I listen to, but that's usually based on my personality. What I recommend when you're searching for new music is to have an open mind, simple as that.

Tools to consider

We live in the time of the internet where you can pretty much find anything you need for your daily life. The internet is an excellent tool in your search for this new music artist you didn't know you loved. Many different resources, applications, and subscription services are available including some big names like Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and iHeart Radio. Each of these with different features and search methods that can adapt to your searching methods, meaning you can use the one you like most to find new music you'll most certainly enjoy. Spotify, for example, is a monthly subscription which has many useful features that again, for example, has an algorithm that builds playlists based on your most played artists or music genre even recommending artists for you to listen. Essentially you don't have to use Spotify specifically but many other applications and subscriptions all offer similar features that will help you find the song you won't stop playing on repeat.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
