4 Tips To Avoid Overpacking EVERY Travel Lover Should Absolutely Know

Overpacking is something many struggle with, me included. When it comes to attempting to not overpack here are some things to keep in mind.

1. Be realistic about what you are going to wear.

You can only wear so many outfits in the period of time you are going to be somewhere. So maybe pack an extra outfit or two at most but also you want to leave extra room in your suitcase just in case you want to buy something while you're there!

2. You don't need your whole vanity.

When it comes to skincare, makeup, and hair care, you simply do not need it all. Pack the necessities, maybe bring a straightener and a curling iron but opt for air-drying your hair so you don't have to bring your blow dryer.

You also don't need to bring all the makeup you own including a bunch of pallets. Be realistic on what makeup if really any you'll wear on your vacation.

3. Have an idea of what you are doing ahead of time.

Having planned activities makes it easier to pack. Whether you going on vacation or moving to college. Have an idea of the things you need like sneakers, hiking boots, a bathing suit, a ski jacket, and things like that where you may not need them all year round.

4. Make a list.

Making a list helps you plan out everything and make sure you have all the things you need. That includes remembering your phone charger and toothbrush. Things that seem to be easily left behind.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
