We all know midterms are coming up, whether we choose to believe it or not. For some of us, stress goes through the roof. Whether you have one midterm or six, we all seem to panic over them. I am going to share with you some things that have worked for me in the past.
1. Breathe.
Usually when people tell me to breathe I want to tell them to shut it, but it really can help. Deep breaths are proven to help calm people down. Just a few breaths in and a few breaths out to regulate your breathing can really go far.
2. Start Early.
Waiting until the last minute to take your books out can really screw you over. Give yourself enough time to prepare. Who wants to disappoint mom again?
3. Take Brakes.
Right when you think you’re going to break down and cry, close your books. Maybe grab some ice cream. Studying for multiple big tests is insanely stressful, and maybe even unreasonable, so reward yourself.
4. Don’t Over Study.
When you know the information perfectly, don’t question yourself. When you get to the exam, you want to know the answers. When you over study, you begin to question all the right answers.
5. Reward Yourself.
When those tests are finally done, have some fun! You deserve a night out, some binge watching, or an excessive amount of candy. Your hard work has paid off and you deserve a treat.
