Finals, the bane of every college student's existence. Let's be honest, nobody wants to take final exams. Whether you have one or ten, the stress they cause can make the last week of the semester unbearable. In light of the upcoming exams, here are a few tips to help you survive your exams and make it home for break!

1. Relax.

Take a breath. Everything will be okay. Remind yourself of this every now and then.

2. Budget your time.

You know which exams are more important than others. Whether it's based on grade, subject, or the amount that needs studying, budget your time based on the importance of your exams. For example, I'll be dedicating way more studying time to my Kinesiology exam than my World Civilization exam.

3. Nourish yourself.

Make sure you're eating and keeping yourself hydrated. Not only is it a stressful time of year, but cold and flu season is in full swing. I know ramen is good in a pinch, but try and make sure you get at least a few good meals in the midst of all the chaos.

4. Exercise.

I know, not everyone loves to exercise. However, whether you take a few laps up and down your hall, go for a quick jog, or do a full crossfit workout, clearing your head and getting yourself moving will make it easier to focus when you sit down to study again later.

5. Take breaks.

Studying isn't usually very fun to begin with, but it's even worse if you don't give yourself 5-10 minutes here or there for a break. Whether it's 10 minutes checking social media, a quick hangout with a friend, or a trip for some ice cream, treat yo'self.

6. Study with a friend.

Lame stock image aside, sometimes studying is easier when you do it with other people. If it's someone studying for the same subject as you, you can help each other understand the more difficult topics. If they're studying for something else, at least you can commiserate together.

7. Remind yourself of your goals.

Whether you're just trying to pass a class or take a step toward the career you're pursuing, try to remember what your goals are. It's easier to accomplish something when you remember why you're doing it.

8. Remember Break!

At the very least, try to remember that Christmas Break is right around the corner! You're so close!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
