Apply anywhere and everywhere

Start with thinking what environment you want to work in; do you want to work in food service or maybe retail? Once you decide on a place, think about places with in that category you would be willing to work at. Once a place crosses your mind, apply there. Applying to tons of places can only help you because it makes your chances higher of getting calls for interviews. Applying to only a low number of places is very risky and you’re less likely to hear back from anywhere. Remember, just because places are taking applications, they may not be hiring at the moment.

Use connections

Ask family members or close friends if they know anywhere that is hiring. Most of the time, people get jobs because of connections. Networking is key to success.

Interview them as much as they interview you

In an interview, the employer is looking for qualities in you that they think will help their company. But while you’re being interviewed, be very observant. Do you like the person interviewing you? Do you like the environment? They might see you fitting in with them, but you may not. If you don’t like a place you interview at, that’s okay.

This will look very good for you.

If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
