9 Tips To Have The Happiest 21st Birthday

If you are looking for some unique and special ideas to celebrate your big day rather than just going out, you are reading the right article. You only turn 21 once and you gotta do it right. Here are some party ideas, gift ideas and dos and don'ts for you to have the happiest birthday!

1. Birthday party!

Going out can be expensive and half of your friends won’t even get into the bars. On the other hand, having your birthday celebration at home is much safer, cheaper and more fun! There is nothing wrong with having a plain party but here are some ways to make it special and unique!

2. Birthday costume party.

Have your guests dress up as any thing or a person you share your birthday with. They could even dress up as you.

3. Funeral themed.

Turning 21 means that your youth is gone. The guests have to dress up in black and have fun in loving memory of your youth!

4. The throwback.

Is there a birthday that you always remember from your childhood? Reenact it! Same outfit, same cake, same food... Take a picture and compare them with your past!

5. Casino themed.

Casino makes me think of two things: “adult” and “fun,” and so does turning 21! Guests will dress up nicely, the house will have such fun decorations and there will be a lot of games and prizes.

6. Fun/creative gift ideas.

You can’t really plan what you’re getting on your birthday but you can drop some hints and hopefully your friends and parents will get the hint.

21-year-old wine.

Bottled on your birth year!

A bag full of Taco Bell’s tacos.

You can share them with your drunk friends at your party.

Skydiving.

Or anything you’d never forget.

Spa day.

Who doesn’t love getting a massage and/or manicure?

Glassware.

Nothing says "adult" more than drinking your cocktail with the right glassware.

9. Dos and Don’ts.

Dress up!

It is your day so you should look like you own the day.

Take pictures!

You gotta remember your big day!

Head a conga line.

No explanation needed.

Forget about eating healthy.

Eat whatever your heart desires.

Don’t skip classes.

The more people you’ll see, the more wishes and hugs you’ll get. You can also show off your birthday outfit.

Don’t take 21 shots.

There are so many ways to have fun without getting trashed. If you are drinking, please drink responsibly.

Don’t expect your friends to spend a lot of money.

You might want to travel, go out to eat at an expensive restaurant or go to a spa with your friends. It is important to do something fun but remember that it’s not their birthday.

Don’t let anything bring you down because IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!

Something bad happened? You can worry about it later but for now, have the happiest birthday!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
