Tips for Starting a Healthy Lifestyle

Recently, I have been doing a lot of research on things I can do in order to have a healthy lifestyle. I knew that is was time for a change and I did not want to wait until New Years to attempt to change my habits. So, I am going to share my weight loss/healthy lifestyle plan and important information that I discovered.

Workingout

When it comes to working out I know that I am never consistent with my routine. While writing down everything that I planned on doing I really realized that I needed to start off simple. A lot of youtubers talked about how they had to find their own pattern that worked for them in order to be consistent and successful. So, my game plan is to workout 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes doing cardio plus strength training twice a week. My advice to you is to figure out what you like to do and pay attention to your body. If things become a little too much then change your workout routine to something simplier. Also, every blue moon try something different like hiking, cycling, swimming or zumba. Keeping things fun can really keep you motivated to get fit.

Drink A LOT of water

Drinking water is honestly the best thing you can do for your body. Drinking water is essential to having a healthier lifestyle. We all know th benfits of drinking water but I also know a lot of people just dont like drinking water. I was one of those people and I still have trouble with this because of the taste. Something that you can do to add flavor to your water make different detox water. You can add your favorite fruit to water and let it sit for a while and there you have it.

Sleep

Sleeping really helps because your body needs atleast 8-9 hours of sleep. Also while sleeping you wont be able to munch on those midnight snacks that we all love to have at night. For some people i know this is going to be tough because of their sleep pattern and being a college student long nights are the norm. However, I really encourage you to try to change your sleep pattern in order to have a healthier lifestyle.

Be Patient

We all know when going on a weight loss journey we tend to think our results are going to happen overnight. This is not the case at all becuase you have to be patient. Hardwork and consistency is all you need. Also try not to step on the scale everyday because it will only discourage you. An alternative would be using a measuring tape to track your results.

This is NOT a diet

I use to always try all of the new challenges and diets on instagram and end up stopping everything after it was over. This can not happen if you think long-term instead of short-term. You have to really want to change your life in order to continue with this journey because this is not another challenge or diet. This is a lifestyle that you have to want.

Im so excited for this new journey and I hope you all are too. For more tips and additional information check out google and youtube. Also, to stay motivated always look at others success stories. THis should encourage you to never give up beccause your hard work will pay off in the end.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?
