Tips For How To Throw A Purr-fect Party For Your Cats
Moms Best Network

My cats, Jon Snow and Milo, turned one the other week and I was really sad I missed it, because I wasn't home from school. I had the idea to throw them an amazing party, but wasn't able to actually do it. So I thought why not inspire someone else to have a nice shindig for their cats.

Here are some tips to throw the purrfect party for the special felines in your life:

Pick a theme...

You can't have an awesome party without an awesome theme to guide you. Some ideas could be a Slum-purr Party, a Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat party, or even a Kit Tea Cat Party (basically a tea party). This isn't just any old party, it's your precious baby kitty's party, so pick a theme people will remember.

Bake a cake...

You can't have a party without cake! But we all know cats can't eat the same cake as us, so here's a cool recipe I found for a cat cake:

Make some decorations...

I'm almost positive the party supply stores don't sell stuff exclusively for cat parties. You'll probably have to get creative when it comes to tiny cat head wear and party games.

Invite some human and some cat friends...

Just because your friends don't have four legs and whiskers doesn't mean there not invited to your cat's party. I say it's a must to invite your friends and there cats over to celebrate as well, but definitely be careful. If you know your cat doesn't do well in new environments with new people, and other cats please leave them at home. No one wants to stress there cat out.

Find a Paw-some playlist...

Here's a playlist I found with cat themed music that'll get your, and your cats grooving!

Encourage cat attire so your feline friends fit in...

Wearing your finest cat apparel as well as strapping on some whiskers and cat ears is a must. It'll be fun and you feel like part of the cat family.

Have an area for your cat to sit like the royalty they are...

Cats vary on the amount of attention they enjoy or require so you should definitely have a safe place for your cat to go when all your friends and cat friends are getting to be a bit much. Just know your cat and make sure that they have space for themselves when needed so they don't lash out on you or get stressed.

Have fun ! Don't take this event too seriously. Your cat will love you more or less whether or not they have ten tuna cakes, a disco ball, or any of the other absurd things you buy them as a cat parent.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
