The teenaged years have been a bit rough but we learn from those tumultuous times. Here are five things I want to tell my soon-to-be 20-year-old self based on my experiences as a teenager:
1. Use your time wisely.
Time is way too precious to just spend it on Netflix. With more and more responsibilities headed your way, you would need to spend your time much more wisely. Oh, and please try to stop procrastinating.
2. Don't worry too much.
You always worry (even over-worry) about everything! But there is definitely no need to worry too much because everything will turn out fine. (Quite frankly, everything you worry about is just waste of energy!)
3. Don't let one mistake define you.
On top off worrying too much, do not let one mistake define you. Instead, learn to fix your mistakes to improve yourself. Besides, the past is in the past!
4. Go out and explore more.
Get out of your room in the weekends! Yes, you can use the weekend to sleep in and recharge yourself. But also get out of your room and explore more, instead of locking yourself in your room just laying around!
5. Get out of your comfort zone.
If you could handle study abroad on your own, you can do anything! It’s nice to play safe but get out of your comfort zone and discover a new side to yourself.
Congratulations! You are now ready to enter the next decade of your life!
