We've all been there. Wanting to write a story but not having any inspiration once you start. Here are a few tips and tricks to get the creativity flowing.
1. Leave your house.
Sometimes inspiration can be right outside.
2. Eavesdrop on a phone conversation.
You can fill in the side you don't hear, and create a whole new situation.
3. Make a list.
If you're stuck, make a list of what you want to happen next.
4. Look for writing prompts.
Pinterest is full of great creative writing prompts. Not only will they help you become a better writer, they can also inspire you.
5. Write every day.
The more you write, the better you get. Take time out of every day to write, even if it's just a little bit.
6. Look at art, quotes, or books that you love.
Don't be afraid to take inspiration from things you love.
7. Don’t overthink.
There is no such thing as a perfect draft. Don't be afraid to make mistakes because they can be corrected.
8. If it's boring to you, then it's boring to your reader.
Don't be afraid to abandon a piece. You can always come back to it.
Now that you have some inspiration, go spread that inspiration to others. Who knows, maybe something great will come out of it.
