Finishing a semester of college feels like you've been run over a truck on the highway at least 12 times. You're exhausted both physically and mentally from finals, you begin to question everything, and you feel like a shell of the person you used to be. Everything in your life feels like its in shambles and you have no idea how to glue everything back together.

As a college student who's currently going through this right now, I understand how easy it is to feel stuck and defeated after a grueling few weeks of putting in all of your hard work into finals and projects. However, if you're done with finals and need to recover from the emotional and physical pain you experienced, here are a few tips on how to make everything sane again.

1. Invest in some candles

Candles (or any kind of aromatherapy) are perfect for helping you feel relaxed and calm, which is something that you'll need after all of the studying and stressing out you've been doing.

2. Get some exercise

Normally I'd be against doing any physical movement after a torturous week of finals, because all I want to do is lay in bed and be lazy for the next two weeks. But getting exercise is actually a great way to relieve some of the stress and will make you feel 10x more refreshed than you were originally.

3. Have a Netflix binge

Now that your life isn't dedicated to studying, catch up on your favorite shows that you've missed out on due to preparing for finals.

4. Do nothing and sleep

After a stressful week of finals, we all deserve the time to absolutely do nothing and just sleep in bed. Put your phone on do not disturb, curl up in your favorite soft blanket, and nap throughout the entire day if you have to.

5. Eat out at your favorite restaurant, or order in your favorite foods

You deserve it, so order your favorite dish and eat at a reasonable hour for the first time in a few weeks, since your body is probably used to having dinner ordered to the library at 11 PM at night.

6. Go shopping

Once again, it's always important to treat yourself every once in awhile.

7. Celebrate

Let off all the steam that you've built up and celebrate being done with tests and exams for the semester.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
