Since my state issued a stay-at-home order in mid-March, I figured I would try online dating. I am single, and I wanted to put myself out there and try something new. However, it was not what I expected. Even though I did get matches, usually no communication came out of it except for some small talk. Personally, I am looking for deeper conversations, and I do not have time to waste.
I live in a small town, and there are only so many options. While on Tinder, I tended to see three common male personalities...
The Young Angler

After swiping through a few potential suitors, I was quickly acquainted with "The Young Angler". Typically, this photo consists of a guy holding a fish. I do not know if guys are trying to impress us with their catch, but it was not working for me.
Do not get me wrong, fishing is fun, and if it is something you are passionate about, that is great. Nevertheless, maybe if a guy showed himself doing laundry, cleaning dishes, and cooking dinner, then I would reconsider. There is nothing sexier than a man who cleans, am I right ladies?
The Group Selfie

Usually, you tend to see at least one group photo on a guy's profile page, which is cool because you get to see him in a different light. However, some guys ONLY put group photos on their profile. This leads into a game of Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe trying to guess who the person is. Maybe it is a package deal!
The "I'm 6'2" If That Matters"

After three swipes, I noticed under the "Info" tab several guys said, "I'm 6'2" if that matters". I am sorry, but height is not all a guy can offer. What about flowers, dinner, or a compliment? In the long-run, these things matter more than a simple measurement.
However, if a guy is tall and brings flowers, cooks dinner, and delivers compliments from time to time, then you just scored a double-whammy.
These are the three personalities you tend to see on Tinder: The Young Angler, The Group Selfie kind of guy, and The "I'm 6'2" If That Matters". Tinder works for some people, and that is great; it just is not for me.
To answer the title's question of, "Tinder: Hot Or Not?", it depends on the person and what he or she is looking for. Give Tinder a try and find out for yourself, but remember to stay safe out there!
