Timing Is King

Time is to be treasured, because once it is used, it is no longer ours.

We are all given the same amount of time per day, 24 hours if you weren't already aware. But, the way in which we spend these 24 hours varies greatly from person to person. Some days I feel like I have accomplished a week's worth of tasks, and others I binge watch Netflix until my eyes physically burn from keeping them open for so long. Although the way in which we occupy these 1,440 minutes vastly differs, I can almost guarantee two things for certain: time is our most valuable asset, and our most feared enemy.

Time is continuously ticking, it is fleeting as every second passes us by. We aim to utilize time to the best of our ability; to outsmart it in times of desperation, to save it with the help of our multitasking skills, and to savor it with the ones we love. Time is the outline of our story, it determines when certain people will enter and exit our lives, and it never fails to remind us of its finite allure. Time is to be treasured, because once it is used, it is no longer ours.

So many of us are waiting for the "right time," but I don't remember time being stamped with a label that says right and wrong on it... In all actuality there is no such thing as the right time, how we spend it is what determines if it is right or wrong. So stop waiting for the time to be right, because you will be waiting FOREVER. Time is happening now, it does not stop changing, and will not be merciful to you if you don't grasp onto each second you're granted.

Time is the most beautiful gift this world has to offer, because with it, nothing is permanent. Time can give you clarity and insight into an issue you have been struggling with, it can heal wounds, both physical and emotional, and most importantly, it reassures us that nothing lasts forever. Time may appear to be dismal since all things must end, however, time can only be regarded as beautiful because of this.

If we were given infinite opportunities, nothing would be special, we would become expectant. Time allows us to experience both temporary pain and joy, which are two emotions that are vital to our growth as individuals. But, no one is ever safe from time, we only borrow it, it is never truly ours. It will eventually knock on all of our doors when we have used our share, because like time, we are not permanent either. We need to make more of an effort to stop waiting for the perfect time, and instead, make the time perfect. Say what you need to say, do what you have always dreamed of doing, and don't let time slip away. Because nothing is more disappointing than looking back and wondering where the time has gone...

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
