Being an independent girl is all fun and games until you are questioned for being independent. While feminism is alive and (sort of) well, there are still far too many people who are horrified by seeing a girl do certain things.
There are cases that have happened, happens frequently, and will happen multiple times again before I die. I have been confronted in these situations by men and women.
Women look at me as if I am not treated right and men pick me out as "single", "stubborn", or "incapable".
There is nothing wrong with single and stubborn. But incapable? HA.
You can watch me do whatever the hell I want, if you please. THEN watch me laugh in your face.
Here are some instances where people ask where my boyfriend is, or "shouldn't your boyfriend be doing that for you?"
1. While I wash/vacuum my car.
[What's the worst that could happen? Right?]
2. Shoveling my driveway.
3. Driving in the snow.
[I do not need a stupid jacked up true, my little "girl car" can make it.]
4. Carrying groceries.
5. Moving furniture.
[Again, what could possibly go wrong?]
6. Taking control of a situation.
7. Working my ass off, making my own money.
8. Checking my oil— we all know how that's going to go!
9. While we are on the car subject; getting gas.
— yes, I pump it myself. No, I do not go to a full service station; please do not give me weird looks or try to get my attention.
