Titanic is arguably one of the best movies ever created. With 14 Academy Awards Nominations (winning 11 of those), 4 Golden Globes, and 3 Grammys under its belt among many other awards, it's hard to say it's not.
Titanic has always been my favorite movie. It shaped my childhood and partially shaped me. The first time I watched Titanic was in 3rd grade, after that I became obsessed with everything Titanic. The movie, the real-life event, the passengers, the ship structure, everything you could think of, I knew.
I have watched all 3 hours and 15 minutes of this movie more times than I can count, probably in the hundreds. It's a movie for anyone and has multiple genres. It's considered epic and for good reason. It not only shows you the love story of a century but this movie is also a history lesson.
The sinking of the Titanic was a heartbreaking and very tragic event. James Cameron, the director, put a lot of effort into making the movie as historically accurate of the events of that night as he possibly could. These are the top 10 moments that really pull you into the movie, not all sad moments.
Some of the most profound moments were those moments of happiness, love, and laughter. With those moments it made Titanic so much more powerful. When that is taken away and all that is left is the sorrow and hurt.
1. The first time Jack lays eyes on Rose...
2. When Rose is contemplating suicide and then slips and almost falls off the boat and Jack rescues her...
3. When Jack and Rose really start to get to know each other.
4. When Jack and Rose fall in love.
This scene melts my heart every time.
5. When Jack draws Rose.
6. When Rose and Jack unite after she decides to leave the lifeboat.
You can just see the love and desperation on their faces.
7. Seeing all of the innocent lives being taken.
8. When our hearts break right alongside Rose's when she realizes that Jack has died.
9. When Rose decides she's going to start her life over...
and live the rest of her life to the fullest like she promised Jack she would.
