Big things are happening for Long Island pop-punk band, Times Like These. Mike Acampora, Zach Dyer, Eddie Giuffo and James Dunlop have been busy at creating a name for themselves; and what a name they have created.
Since performing their first live show on July 2, 2016, TLT has been hard at work promoting their first EP and have established quite a following from it. The band has since performed roughly 12 live performances in the last four months, and even had a few live radio interviews, but the best has yet to come. TLT has played in venues such as Amityville Music Hall, traveled to Connecticut for a performance and performed a show at Revolution Bar and Music Hall, where they played along other bands like Amboy and Dino Skatepark.
With all of their hard work comes the biggest news TLT has had yet. They were asked to open for some pretty big and well known pop-punk bands at Revolution this November. This is one of the best/biggest opportunities the band has gotten thus far. "This Revolution show is up there for sure. This is a big opportunity for us to play with some awesome bands. Besides this, we've gotten to play out of state, which was an amazing experience!" TLT said.
"We are so pumped to play Revolution! This is our second time playing this venue; but this time are coming back to play with some bigger bands! We are local supporters of The Millenium, 4 Door Theater, Bonfires and The Stolen tour! It's such a huge honor to be part of this show, and the coolest thing about Revolution is all the rad people who work there. They're so nice and so caring. It's such an awesome place with great sound and a great stage set up," Mike said, on behalf of the band. "It's such an awesome feeling being able to play a show on their tour. They're all so talented and have made a huge name for themselves, so this show is really exciting!"
The number of fans has increased drastically since the band started performing live. They are meeting new people everyday through social media and their shows. "We are pretty down to earth people so we love talking to everyone!" TLT said. The band reaches out to fans all the time. "We always write our fans back when they reach out to us and we always keep in touch and hold contests now and than. All fun stuff!"
TLT agrees the best part to performing live is being on stage with each other. They are all best friends, who agree that each person is so talented, and an all around great person. "Another amazing part to performing is hearing people sing our songs to us," TLT said. If you've ever seen a Times Like These live performance, the amount of people singing their lyrics during their set is absolutely amazing. My personal favorite song to sing along to is 'Greetings From Avalon Park'. Mike said his favorite song to perform live is 'Touch Called Remedy', but lately has really been liking the full band version of 'Daisy' (which is also played and recently recorded, as an acoustic song) and 'Greetings From Avalon Park', especially since he always hears the crowd singing the entire time.
Like most bands, no one agrees on everything all of the time, but TLT agreed they don't really argue that much because they are all best friends, so everything usually resolves itself fairly quickly.
In the future, TLT hopes to be playing bigger shows and traveling to other states. With some hard work and dedicated fans, TLT hopes to become much bigger then they already are, even within the next year. "If we could go back in time, say two years ago, we never expected to be where we are now. We're starting to make a name for ourselves, we've got new people showing up to TLT shows, and we get letters from people telling us how much our music helps them," TLT said. "I never expected to get the love and friendships we are acquiring now. It's so humbling," Mike added.
What is next for Times Like These? "We don't want to give too much away, but expect some big news around winter!" TLT said. "You can definitely expect a new EP. We are currently writing some songs for it and who knows, it could have a lot more songs then our last EP, 'Follow Your Stupid Dreams'. As for spoilers, we can tell you a studio full band version of 'Daisy' is in the works. As for lyrics, you're gonna have to listen to the new EP to hear some of those!"
