Let’s be honest, we’ve all been here. Many, many times. We’re college kids, and that pretty much means we’re stuck at a crossroads between naps or homework, laundry or another episode on Netflix, getting lunch or going to the gym.
You’re out of class, and the day/week has lasted forever. It’s time to relax with your “squad”, even if it’s just sitting in a room studying for that huge test on Monday. It just feels good being by the people you’re close to at the end of a stressful week.
This is one of those lines you wanna keep in the back of your head. Taking risks is hard, but it’s nice to live outside your comfort zone from time to time.
This is something that people forget sometimes. But we’ve already done so much - working towards degrees, working towards graduating college, all that. You are so much more than how good you look on a given day. That's a nice brain you have, homie.
Got a C on that exam you thought you’d get an A on? It’s okay, you have room to do better next time. This might also apply to that pile of clothes sitting in the corner of your room that you said you’d clean up a week ago or accidentally waking up your roommate getting ready for that 8:15. (Sorry roomie, I’m flawed.)
Sometimes it feels like the days last forever, which turn into weeks, which makes it feel like next break is light years away. But as soon as summer comes, you’ll notice how fast it all went by in reality. So for now, even though it seems like you have 2,000 things to say that day you can definitely get through it.
Coming to college is all about change: Your home, your friends, or that new job/internship can have an impact on you. With everything being new, you’re bound to get homesick from time to time. But it's also all about new beginnings. Opportunities are everywhere, wether it's joining a sorority/fraternity or that new club. College is what you make of it, after all.
Okay, that diet is starting tomorrow. As tempting as another salad wrap sounds, Papa John’s just seems to be calling your name. Honestly, if you get enough people to join you that means more sharing, less paying, and less unhealthy food you eat by yourself. Plus the best conversations are ones with pizza.
I think this one's a bit of a given. With everything going on, it's important to make time to call mom or dad and ask how they are. Or facetime your best friend from high school to catch up on stories about college. Even though we're caught up with the people and the work here, it feels good to talk to the people who you're still close to despite the distance.
“We have to dance it out. That’s how we finish.”
Let loose! These are meant to be some of the best years of our lives, so set that textbook aside and break out to an impromptu dance session. That’s the best way to end a stressful week, only a few more to go 'till break.
