Last weekend I took the mighty trip up from Montgomery, to Chattanooga, to Johnson City, Tennessee — all of an accumulated of six hours. These six hours meant going to see my best friends from high school. They've been through the thick and thin with me and still are with me through it.
This time was a different time though. It had a new feeling about it. We all had our separate ways, but all connected to catch up since seeing each other at the beginning August. We stayed at our friends Taylor and Peden's apartment at ETSU. We stayed up till one in the morning just catching up and talking about our crazy professors, and how we're all going to drop out because mid-terms were coming up, and all of the scandals on campus. All of them were so great to hear about, but one thing that made me the happiest, is that my friends were becoming successful adults. They all were chasing for the dream of that diploma that had their name written across it with their degree. They were dreaming of the day that they got to walk across the stage in front of thousands of people and their families to cheer them on of their accomplishments. For some, this meant that they made themselves happy and their family happy. Others, this meant that they were the first person to graduate from college. All in all, I am so proud of them no matter what this means to them.
This also means the next step in life for them. Peden, Taylor, and Yasmine are off to Medical school, while the boys are still making the decision on whether or not to continue with a higher degree plan.
I am so blessed that I got to spend the time I did with them and can not wait to see them during Thanksgiving break!
