As we near Thanksgiving, I find that I have a lot to be thankful for. I have a roof over my head, I have a job, I'm receiving an education, I have a great family, my friends are awesome, I have the ability to run and dance, I'm dreaming big and have the opportunity to chase them and make them happen.
Thanksgiving is not only about over-stuffing our tummies; it truly should be a time to show your thankfulness and appreciation for the things and people in your life, even if it's the small things, like having a dog that loves you.
Tell your family you appreciate their company. Thank your mom, grandma, sister, uncle, brother, whoever, for cooking. Pray for the people who are unable to be with their family during this time. Don't take anything for granted; not even the fact that you're able to read this. And then, I encourage you to practice showing this thankfulness everyday. Make this a starting point to change your life for the better.
I, personally, am especially thankful for second chances and the fact that I wake up each morning. I am thankful that I can write and share my stories and ideas with whoever is willing to read them. And I will continue to remind myself of this, even after Thanksgiving is over.
Enjoy your time with family, friends, whoever you're spending this time with. Stuff your tummy and show thanks, and then stuff your tummy even more. Share your love and grace and encourage everyone around you to do the same. We cannot have positivity in life if we do not emit it as well.
And lastly, I'm thankful you read this.
