As I have been working diligently on The 2018 American Cancer Society Relay For Life Of Sunrise I decided to simply get real and speak my truth. On certain occasions this found me having some not so nice interactions as many people are just so darn sensitive and wrapped to tight. It was an overcast day on April 21,2018 at The Festival Marketplace Antique Fair when I was conducting a fundraiser for The 2018 American Cancer Society Relay For Life Of Sunrise. The day was going well and many people were coming up to my booth to support the effort to attack cancer from every angle however there were a few people that need to get real and lighten up. One such gentleman was a guy wearing a $10,000 Rolex who inquired about a die cast car. I told him it was $5 and he offered $1.50 claiming he had no money. I told him you have to be kidding me as this is for charity and you can well afford $5 based on the watch you are wearing. He walked away and I though wow the audacity of some people. Then there was the guy who told me $2 for a used Garth Brooks CD was to much. I asked him do you go to Publix and complain about their prices. He continued to argue to which I simply stated sir this id for charity and the $2 is a donation if you don't want the CD that is fine but don't disparage me by say my price was to high. Again I thought wow the audacity of this man. People this is the problem with our society today as we have lost the idea of common decency and respect. It is time to get real and understand that we are all brothers and sisters tied together by our divinity and that we must respect each other and begin to be of service and value to one another.

It is time for all of us to check our egos at the door and understand that at the end of the day the only things that matter are if you lived your life in joy and if your life brought joy to others. When you wake up each day you can get real and be grateful that GOD gave you another day to be of service and value so you should glad and rejoice in the day that GOD hath made. It is time to get real and get right with GOD. Imagine if we began to understand and live by the idea that faith in GOD gives meaning and purpose to human life, that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations, that economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise, that government should be of laws rather than of man, that earth's great treasure lies in human personality, and the service to humanity is the best work of life how much better our communities would be. It is not about having materialistic things or power even though a large part of our population will tell you this it is about being of service and value to people and being real with yourself.

One way to get real is to commit to being kind in all that you do. In being kind and staying focused and grounded in kindness you will begin to experience a shift that brings peace, love, joy, and prosperity into your life. Making sure that you speak kindly ensures that your encounters go well and thus you are able to manifest the life that you desire.

In getting real you need to show gratitude as the level of gratitude that you show will determine your altitude. As I collected donations on April 21 and sold some items I kept saying thank you and as a result I had a very successful day raising $84 for The 2018 American Cancer Society Relay For Life Of Sunrise. As a result of showing gratitude I have raised $2753 so far for The 2018 American Cancer Society Relay For Life Of Sunrise. Donations can be made at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg19.

In getting real and speaking your truth you will have a few haters, doubters, and naysayers along the way. Do not let these people discourage you from evolving personally, professionally, and spiritually. Many people will not understand when you get real and speak your truth because they simply have not evolved to a level where they understand that every encounter we have can be of value. I have been a community advocate for many charities over the last 41 years and I can tell you the people who got real and saw the value of cause marketing and supported the causes I was working with experienced growth in brand awareness as well as increased revenue. The key is to be open and receptive to those who can drive business to you and help you to achieve your goals. It is time for you to get real and create the life you desire.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
