The first thing I thought of when I got into college was, "What should I be packing?" Obviously, my mind was on clothes and shoes (lots and lots of shoes). To make your life a little easier, I've listed 15 wardrobe essentials for every college girl.

1. A Go-To, Never-Fail Pair Of Jeans.

These are the jeans that make you feel fabulous even when you don't. The jeans that hug in all the right places and are the perfect wash. Whether these are skinny jeans, bootcut jeans, straight jeans, any jeans, bring them! They can make the worst day a tolerable day and when you don't feel like going out, these will be your trusty best friends.

2. Watch

Being on time is being five minutes early (at least). A watch is key to making sure you get where you need to be when you need to be there. If you don't have a watch, invest in one because a good watch can last you a lifetime. Sometimes you can't rely on your phone to tell you the time, like when you are stuck in a lecture, and would get in major trouble if you pulled out your phone.

3. LBD

Little Black Dress. Any occasion, any costume, any time (day or night), this is essential. Black is the most flattering color. It can make the palest of people feel a little bit tanner, and it makes you look slimmer than you are. When in doubt buy it in black.

4. Workout Clothes And Shoes

Let's be honest, the Freshman 15 is a real thing. Even if you promise to go to the gym daily and eat right, it gets hard. Having workout clothes and shoes that you actually love to put on will give you motivation to get to the gym. Also there are some days where you just don't want to try and look cute, like the months it doesn't get above freezing.

5. VEST

My favorite accessory, a vest is essential for fall, winter, and spring. If it's a little chilly but not yet jacket weather, VEST! If you want to change up the go-to sweatshirt, VEST! Vests are amazing. Try to get a black or navy blue, they go with almost everything.

6. Light Jacket

Army green jackets were so in this past fall that it seemed like everyone had one. They are great, but any color will do for a day when you need a little more than a vest. I love my jean jacket too. Jean jackets never seem to go out style and can be worn in any season. When buying a light jacket, splurge! You want a good one that can last you a long time because you can use these for years to come.

7. Over-Sized Sweater

Rocking the homeless look is great on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You can wear over-sized sweaters with leggings or jeans or even over a dress. They are the best and super warm and comfy too.

8. Leggings

If you don't own a pair you should. If you own a pair (or pairs) buy more.

9. Scarves

Perfect to make any outfit look complete. These are essential to surviving 'Cuse winters and the days where you won't get above 20.

10. Statement Necklaces

If a scarf doesn't work, then a statement necklace will. These are great for spicing up a boring outfit and adding a little something extra to that business casual outfit you need to wear for chapter.

11. Blazer

Yes sometimes you need to dress up and that LBD can be dressed up perfectly if you have a blazer to throw over it.

12. A Baseball Hat

Everyone has a bad hair day.

13. Riding Boots

Wear them with jeans, leggings, a sweater, a dress, anything and instantly you look 10x more put together.

14. Flats

Never underestimate how many times you will need a killer pair of flats. I love my flats because they can make even the most casual outfit a little dressier. These are great for running around campus on presentation days, or when you want to wear a dress on that rare nice day in CNY.

15. Bean Boots (Or Hunter Boots, Or Both)

Bean Boots are my go-to in the winter so I don't get all of that gross salt on my good riding boots. Hunters are great for rainy days and for adding a little color to your outfits.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
