Happy December, and most importantly, Merry (oh my gosh it's almost here) Christmas!
Christmas in today's society is seen as a time to spend time with friends and family, and of course, open presents.
But have millennials completely disregarded the real meaning of Christmas?
Do individuals still recognize that the reason for Christmas is not about how many presents received but because the Savior of the world was born?
I hate to be the "Debby Downer," but presents are definitely not the reason for the season.
Christmas is here in order to celebrate the birth of the One who died on a cross to save the sinners of the world.
So, to remind and reflect on all that the Lord has done for His children, here are five Bible verses that will help tell the real meaning of Christmas:
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14
"But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship." Galatians 4:4-5
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the Law shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah9:6
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11
While you are spending time with your family this season, make sure to give thanks and praise to the One who gave us the ability to celebrate Christmas in the first place.
