“Either you run the day or the day runs you.” -Jim Rohn
I’m only one week into the semester and things are already pretty hard to balance. In between school, work and other obligations, it is difficult to keep track of things. Here are five tips I’m implementing into my life to help me get through this semester:
Limit Distractions
Find the study/work environments you are the most productive in. Turn your phone off or set times to check your phone. Constant texting and checking social media notifications will take up more time than you think.
Use Time Management Tools
Calendars. Agendas. Lists. Dry erase boards. Phone apps. Use them.
Learn to say “no”
There are only so many hours in a day. No matter how much you want to say yes to activities and people, sometimes it just isn’t possible. It is okay to say no.
Prioritize
Work on the most pressing things on your to-do list first. Schedule your day accordingly.
Take Care of Yourself
Make sure to get enough sleep, exercise and downtime. Just like you charge your phone when the battery dies, you need to make sure you are fully charged to function properly.
