Hands up if you're more than ready for summer vacation to begin! I know I've been ready for this break for a few weeks now, but I also know how quickly it goes by. I'm sure we've all had sun-kissed, adventure-filled summers, as well as sluggish, nothing-to-do summers. Obviously the first one is the more appealing option, however, there's this underlying expectation that it'll be one or the other and we just have to live with it. But I say that your summer will be as great or as boring as you want it to be.
You don't need to map out every single detail of each day, but have intentionality and create a summer bucket list. That way, you have ideas and plans that can be just as spontaneous! I have already started mine and it includes adventures like a trip to Colorado or Nashville, having a bonfire and making s'mores, going line dancing, hosting a bar-b-que, getting a tan, reading at least five books, going to a few concerts, and just making memories!
Instead of waking up and seeing what happens that day while getting nothing done, I've decided to wake up and look at the endless possibilities then decide what I'm going to do that day. This type of intentionality is what creates lasting memories. Choosing what I'm going to get done, making a plan for it, and accomplishing it- that's what it's all about.
Making this summer one to remember starts with knowing what to get out of it. Make that decision and get the ball rolling! Put that pen to paper, write down what you want to do this summer -whether it's adventurous or studious- and start brainstorming how to get things done in the two to three months off.
