What is your biggest dream, and why do you deserve it?

It's Time To Dream Big Or Go Home
Denys Nevozhai
So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.

- Christopher Reeve

What is your biggest dream?

I dare you to answer without shrugging it off and dismissing it as an impossible daydream. So many people have hopes and dreams, but are too intimidated by them to make them a reality. They think they don't deserve to achieve their goals, or their goals are too far-fetched.

Here's a thought: If you can dream it, you can make it happen.

Now, the key word in the above sentence is "make." You can't wish it into existence; you have to work for it.

Maybe this seems obvious, but many people are content with keeping their dreams within the realm of imagination.

Imagination can be a beautiful, wild and adventurous ride, but in the end, it won't take you anywhere unless you take concrete steps to make it a reality.

Dreams have purpose.

We are as big as our dreams, and the bigger you dream, the more you show the world who you want to be.

Maybe your dream seems impossible, but it definitely won't happen if you don't first believe in your own capability.

Whether you want to be a world-renowned photographer, the next Leslie Knope or even the next big Disney producer, your dream can be your reality.

You just need to take the first step.

Maybe you feel you don't have the confidence or skill to take the bull by the horns, but maybe it's time to start asking yourself the five "W's."

Who are you now, and who do you want to be a year from now? Who is in your way and blocking you from chasing your dreams?

Forget the naysayers, and the people in your life who tell you who you ought to be. They may mean well, but in the end, this is your decision. It's your life. This is the time to figure out who you are.

What is holding you back from taking the first step?

Beginning a journey is daunting, but the only way to push through is to place one foot in front of the other. If the path you're taking isn't working, find a new one.

Where can you go to get started, or find opportunities that can open doors for you?

You always want to be open to new opportunities, but you also have to be able to take initiative, ask questions and push those doors open.

The early bird gets the worm, so don't sleep through opportunities!

I never got any of my leadership positions by sitting back and waiting for them to be handed to me; I had to speak out and let the right people know I was interested.

Tip: Network, network, network! You can never go wrong by making connections! Having skill and ability may be important, but the job market is also all about who you know.

Don't burn bridges, build them.

When are you going to make time for yourself and your life?

Your top priorities should be God and yourself. When you are happy and fulfilling your mission in life, not only are you doing God's work, but you are also opening yourself up to better serve others.

You and your dreams need to be a priority.

Why do you lack confidence in yourself and your ability to soar?

Consider this: When a loved one or close friend is putting themselves down, how do you respond? You don't agree with them, right? My guess is "no."

If we're supposed to treat others how we want to be treated, shouldn't we be treating ourselves the same way? Don't bully yourself; it will quickly take you on the path to Nowhere.

So, let's circle back to that challenge posed at the beginning: What is your biggest dream? I want you to think about why you deserve it, and how you can achieve it.

Basically, dream big or go home.

You are worth every second of effort put into your happiness and fulfillment.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
