Celebrities are always in the public eye and sometimes, this gets the best of them. One particular celebrity that I have looked up to for a large part of my life seems to handle this fishbowl lifestyle pretty well. Tim McGraw never ceases to make me smile with his music and kind acts.

1. His lyrics

Every morning I start my morning listening to a motivational playlist that I compiled. Many of the songs on the list are from none other than Tim McGraw. The lyrics of his songs are touching, inspirational, and relatable. From the sobering words of “Live Like You Were Dying” that reminds listeners that every day is a blessing to his newer release of “Humble and Kind” that drives home the importance of being the best version of yourself. On a lighter note, songs like “Something Like That” have a more upbeat sound to them and often trigger the listener's’ own good time memories from years ago. I could go on and on highlighting songs and their impacts because nearly all of his songs send an important message like one of my personal favorites “Grown Men Don’t Cry.”

2. Charity work

Tim McGraw supports and makes donations to a variety of charities and causes. He supports a large variety of groups and causes such as military members and veterans; brain tumors and brain related trauma; and other organizations geared toward helping children and animals. He and his wife even founded their own organization that supports the strengthening of communities through neighborly assistance.

3. He cares about his fans

His Facebook page is littered with posts he shares that he receives from his fans. Most recently he has been sharing grad caps that are embellished with lyrics from his songs that students have used for motivation. He is more than happy to take pictures and sign autographs at events.

4. He uses his fame for positivity

Among those fan posts on his Facebook, he shares inspirational quotes and encourages people to live life to the fullest as to be as kind as possible. It is always refreshing to see such encouraging posts while scrolling through my social media. This is just one of many methods he uses to spread positivity.

5. He is dedicated to his music

I have grown up listening to Tim McGraw’s music my entire life. I often joke to my friends referring to him as my “main man.” Through every hard time in my life, every celebration, I was able to find a Tim McGraw song that perfectly fit my mood. Not every situation was a perfect match but the emotion was dead-on. He is still producing music now which continues to inspire me, and likely many other fans, in two ways. Primarily, as I mentioned before, through his lyrics. And less obviously, by being a role model as to how to live fully and to keep doing what you love.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
