On Tuesday, November 8, the day we elect a candidate as president, couldn't come any faster. Donald Trump has already elected his vice president, Mike Pence. Now Hillary Clinton has chosen Tim Kaine as her vice president. We are all either rooting for Clinton or Donald, unless you're that person who doesn't like either.
When candidates choose their vice president, it gives us a closer look of what they want to accomplish, and a little more character to each person.
What you should know about Tim Kaine:
Kaine is 58-years-old and a Virginia senator, he was also a Virginia governor, Democratic National Committee chairman and Richmond mayor.
"He took a year off from law school to volunteer with Jesuit missionaries at a vocational school in Honduras. He speaks Spanish fluently, switching between languages in many ads and campaign speeches. In a 2013 address on immigration, he became the first senator to give a speech on the Senate floor in a language other than English," according to cnbc.com.
As for what Kaine supports and opposes:
Supports: He supports Obama's Affordable Care Act, comprehensive immigration reform, universal education for little kids, global climate change, pro-gun control, and same-sex marriage,
Opposes: death penalty, smoking, and discrimination in the workforce.
In the first rally with Clinton, Kaine spoke Spanish to the crowd. According to Yahoo.com, Clinton "had said she wanted a running mate with enough experience to 'literally get up one day and be the president of the United States.'"
I think I'm ready to have Hillary Clinton as President and Tim Kaine as Vice President.
What are your thoughts on Tim Kaine? Is it a thumbs up or a thumbs down for Hillary Clinton?
