Halloween

With Halloween just around the corner, literally, what better costume than a #throwback costume?! After browsing the internet for hours, I have compiled the best costumes that bring you back to your childhood memories!

1. Chef Boyardee

I don't know about y'all, but Chef Boyardee was my go to lunch, especially the ravioli! Heck, who am I kidding? It's still a go-to because 'broke college student probs.' What better way to reminisce than to be the Chef Boyardee himself!

2. Minnie Mouse

She is a classic! And ladies, you can look so precious by pulling off a less trashy costume that is totally rockin'! Not to mention, who doesn't want to be comfortable on a night of party hopping?

3. The Game Boy

Gentlemen, instead of being the player; be the game! What better way to show your techy side than to go as a classic handheld gaming device? Not to mention, who didn't love playing Mario?

4. Lisa Frank

Lisa Frank was the talk of the school way back in the day. For me and my fellow friends, it was always show-and-tell when someone picked up a new set of Lisa Frank school supplies. So, instead of being the classic cheetah, be the colorful leopard! And even though you might need to explain your costume, you'll be one of a kind!

5. Tamagotchi

What's now seen today as an app in the app store, once was a portable gaming device (that honestly, I never understood). However, it makes a really cute costume! If you had a Tamagotchi and you understood it, then I definitely think you should rock this costume for Halloween. Heck, you might meet a Game Boy and live happily ever after.

6. VHS Videotape

For those of you who are too young to know what this is, it's how us 90's kids watched movies. Crazy right?! What better way to be "vintage" than being a walking VHS. And gentleman, do you wanna pick up the ladies? I would recommend going with a Disney princess movie as your title!

7. Coppertone Baby

I know as of recently the internet was flooded with a recent photo of a college girl with the same costume but personally, I think this version is way cuter! I don't know about you all, but my parents slathered sunscreen on me as a child! Not to mention, I remember seeing the Coppertone baby on every bottle they used. So, how cute would it be to go fully clothed, yet naked, to this year's Halloween party? Super adorable! Plus, you'll make everyone do a double take.

8. Tonka Truck

Obviously, I can tell it isn't technically a Tonka Truck, but to make it one is easily just a switch of painting Tonka on the side instead of CAT. And in the world of social media and technology, how fun would it be to be like this guy and strap a Go Pro to the front to record the good, the bad, and the ugly of the greatest party of the year.

9. Smokey the Bear/ Campfire

How amazing is this couples costume!?! Sure, you might need to get hella crafty, but these costumes are bound to win a Grammy! What better way to throwback to your childhood than with the slogan "Only you can prevent wildfires."

That's a wrap! It's time to get your mummy on!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
