To Those Who Think They Won't Make It Through Highschool

You can, I promise.

To Those Who Think They Won't Make It Through Highschool

There are times that you are walking around and you wonder, why am I here? Is it even worth it? My answer to you is yes, it is so worth it and you can do it. All of the mean things that are said and all of the struggles you face are worth it. The pain of losing a friend or losing a boyfriend or girlfriend you thought you would be with forever are worth it. Do not give up.

There were times during my own high school career when I thought I just wanted to give up and forget school. I am so glad I stuck with it. Being in high school is sometimes the worst feeling. Rumors get spread by the girl that is jealous of you or you failed that big test you studied all week for. I have been in both situations and it is not fun. Been there, done that. Despite it all, I came out okay in the end.

Right now, I am attending the college of my dreams to do what I love, which is riding and dealing with horses. I love the feeling of being able to get up and go to the barn and study what I have worked for my entire life, which is not long but it still means a lot. However, none of it would have been possible if I hadn’t stuck it out in high school. I am not saying that it is horrible to not stay in school, because high school is not always for everyone. For myself and I am sure for other people, high school has played a big part into furthering our future, whether it is college or getting right into the workforce.

As much as it seems like you are struggling now, I promise you it will be worth it. Ignore the people who try to bring you down. Study harder for that next test. If you ever need someone to talk to, find someone who will listen. There are more people like me out there. You got this. I promise.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
