If you're a daredevil like me, then you obviously love roller coasters. Being born and raised 20 minutes from Six Flags Great America, you can say I've spent a lot of time on roller coasters. But I surely didn't start off that way. Growing up I used to be very afraid of just about anything and everything. Plus, I was never tall enough to ride the rides until I entered 8th grade.

That moment when I found out I was over 54 inches was one of the happiest moments of my life. I discovered I love roller coasters and nothing can replace the thrill, besides maybe skydiving.

When I returned home from college this summer, I decided to buy a season pass, and now my friends and I have been living it up at Great America; experiencing all the thrills it has to offer. Here's a ranking of the extreme rides we have at Six Flags Great America.

1. Raging Bull

All hail, hands down, the best ride at Great America. Although Raging Bull doesn't go upside down, it is the tallest and longest ride in the park, not to mention it's extremely smooth. The seats are actually pretty comfortable as well, which is always a plus.

2. Goliath

One of the parks newest rides, Goliath comes in close second. According to Six Flags, this hot new ride is the worlds tallest wooden coaster at 72 mph, tallest drop for a wooden coaster at 180 feet, and steepest drop for a wooden coaster at a near-vertical 85 degrees. Along with all these records, Goliath incorporates a zero g-roll twist, making your stomach drop. So... Are you ready to conquer Goliath?

3. BATMAN: The Ride

Yet another amazing ride, Batman takes third place. The ride includes two vertical loops and three “heart line spins." According to Six Flags, each "heart line spin" provides 3 seconds of zero gravity. The ride goes 55 mph!

4. Vertical Velocity (V2)

Although V2 is only a 45-second ride, it provides immense thrill and it deserves the fourth place. Sit back, and try to relax, as you shoot into the sky gaining an incredible view of the entire park.

5. SUPERMAN: Ultimate Flight

Lie flat on your stomach and get ready for take-off, Superman Ultimate Flight is in gear. This crazy roller coaster takes you on an upside down adventure, even taking a picture during the biggest loop!

6. X Flight

X Flight is a revolutionary coaster and there is no track above your head or below your dangling feet! This one-winged coaster allows riders to sit on either side of the track, making you feel weightless, which really gets your adrenaline kicked in.

Next time you're in the area, make sure to check out Six Flags Great America. There are obviously many more rides to enjoy and i promise you won't regret it.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
