To nobody's surprise, we will not be looking at a traditional holiday season filled with family gatherings and outings this year. Many businesses are closed for the duration of the holiday season, leaving some wondering how they will be celebrating this holiday season. Though times are definitely different than what we are used to, here are some easy ways to celebrate the holidays safely this year.
Attend A Drive-Thru Light Show

If you live in the Chicagoland area, places like the Morton Arboretum and Northbrook Court are offering these shows with tickets selling for $40. Fill your car with your quarantine circle, stop for some hot chocolate on the way and enjoy the show.
Bake Cookies

Since we don't have the luxury to go out and enjoy our normal activities, I think there is something to be said for making your home feel cozy with the smell of fresh baked holiday cookies. Make them for yourself and send some to your family and friends, reminding them to stay in good spirits even though you cannot celebrate together.
Try Your Hand At Making Holiday Cocktails

Research recipes that include your favorite ingredients and be a bartender from home. (Pairs well with blankets and holiday movies).
Regardless of how you choose to celebrate this holiday season, keep in mind that the safety of yourself and others is the priority. This is not the holiday season that we expected, but the sooner we get on board with social distancing and limiting our physical interactions with others, the sooner we can return to celebrating our favorite holidays in style.
