Hello and welcome to 2016! It hasn't even been a week and I am already thinking about things I want this year to bring. Instead of getting into what I want to happen to me personally, I have been thinking about some things I want to happen in the world over the next 12 months. Shall we?
1. We get a not-so-terrible new president.
2016 is a big year for American politics; it is the year we get a new president. If you've been living under a rock for the past year, than you've been missing out on "American Horror Story: Freak Show Pt. II: Presidential Race". There are so many Republican candidates, it feels like "Cheaper by the Dozen 3" except without Steve Martin as the lovable dad; instead we have Donald Trump. And there are more than two Democratic candidates, but the media only cares about Hilary and Bernie. At this point, I have no idea who to vote for in the primaries, let alone the final showdown in November. Honestly, I'd rather have Leslie Knope, or a corgi in a bow-tie as our new commander-in-chief. Imagine the possibilities, and the cuteness.

2. "Hoverboards" are banned everywhere
First, let's stop calling these monstrosities "hoverboards" because unless they can be used to outrun Griff Tannen and his army of goons, I'm not interested. They do not hover above the ground. However, for the purpose of this article, I'll still call them hoverboards. They are disruptive, annoying, and they catch on fire. I want a worldwide ban on hoverboards, and a burning of them in the town square a la the burning spinning wheels in "Sleeping Beauty." Please, just please.
BURN, BABY, BURN.
3. Lower Airfare
All I want to do is to be able to travel in my own country and abroad as well. There's one little problem: Airfare is out of control. I know that fuel costs are out of control and things just keep getting more expensive. I know. Nearly everyday I dream about going on adventures around the world until I look up airfare. It's painful. I think this year I'll try to save a little money to go somewhere in the world by the end of the year, but I'm still holding out for lower prices. Hey, a girl can dream.
No matter what 2016 brings, I hope it's full of happiness and good things.
