Having more than one best friend may seem unconventional, but it is actually a wonderful blessing. It is even more wonderful when your two best friends are also best friends. You all get to hang out together. There is no room for petty jealousy when there's so much love to go around. With all the wonderful things that our friendships bring to our lives, there are some struggles that can only be understood by these rare groups of best friends that challenge what it really means to have a best friend. Many of us have truly discovered what it's like to break the word best in two and enjoy all of the benefits of having more than one best friend. However, there are some struggles that come right along with it...
One of the greatest things about being friends for so long is that your friends know you so well. However, when you have two best, best friends instead of your everyday one, the Instagram situation can get a little complicated. I mean come on — your friends know you well enough to know your good side, so you always look your best. However, all of your pictures end up looking pretty much the same. Usually you don't mind, because let's face it: you're all the cutest. However, it's pretty obvious when you all want to post a picture. Having a group of best friends is especially tricky when that embarrassing photo of you has twice the chance of making a comeback on #TBT.
We forgive them, though, because it's worth twice the amount of love in our lives.
Speaking of social media faux pas, don't even try to post something with only one other member of your trio. The other will find out. She will use forceful emojis in retaliation. Thankfully, the three of you are rarely apart, so this disaster isn't too likely to happen.
You invented the saying "Three is better than one," because how great is it just being all together? Even if it means you're all talking at once? And about different things?
This is an especially serious struggle when you don't live in the same city. When you're finally all together it can take a lot to get a word in edgewise because you're all so excited to catch up. There is strength in numbers but there are also a lot more stories to be told.
Despite these apparent "struggles," it's clear that there is nothing better than the friendship that you share. You'd take a little extra chatter and a little extra fight over who gets to post what picture any day so that you won't miss out on all the wonderful things that this friendship has brought to your life. After all, what can be better than two shoulders to cry on and great big bear hugs? Nothing. Nothing is the answer to that question.
Our only true complaint can be that all traditional best friend duos get the greatest TV quotes to share. Come on, can't we get any of those?
