Three Fall DC Must Dos

Fall is a magical time, especially in our nation's capital. The weather is finally cooling off from the terrible August heat, the leaves are changing, and there are plenty of things that you can only do this time of year. So here are three things to check out this Fall in DC.

1. Apple Picking

There is nothing better than a fresh picked apple in the fall. Something about the crisp apple matching the crisp fall air just seems perfect in my mind. And even better is picking your own! Apple picking is a great weekend activity for groups, couples, and families. Plus it's super insta-worthy. Check out these places to pick your own apples.

2. Go to a Fall Festival/Pumpkin Patch

This honestly is my favorite fall tradition. The little kid in me goes wild at the idea of the hay ride, the corn maze, and getting to pick out my own pumpkin from the patch. This is a great date idea, one of my first and favorites with my boyfriend, or a great group activity. Butler's Orchard has a great pumpkin festival that I highly recommend.

3. Take a ghost tour

DC is rich in history, obviously, but there is also a darker side to all the history. If you want to get in the fall/Halloween spirit than a ghost tour is a perfect idea and DC is the perfect place for one. Check out this website for two really great tours in DC and this for an Alexandria tour.

Fall is my favorite time of the year and DC is probably my favorite place to spend fall. Not only is it beautiful this time of year but between the entire DMV area there are so many opportunities for fall fun. These three are my fall must dos, what are yours?

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
