30 All Too Real Spanish Homework Struggles, As Told By Spongebob

Summer school is weird. You're caught in this limbo between being at school and being on summer break. Only one class isn't enough to be in "school mode" all the time, but being in even one class prevents you from going into full, carefree "summer mode." In all this confusion, Spongebob is here to help me explain the situation.

1. This will all be worth it in the long run. I know it.

2. This isn’t so bad. I'll be done in no time.

3. Wow, I don’t remember any of this.

4. I have to conjugate all of these verbs?

5. Ugh. I want to go outside.

6. Okay, pull the curtains on the window and focus. I got this.

7. Okay, I'm lost.

8. Thank goodness for Google translate.

9. My teacher will never know I just translated that entire essay.

10. Okay yeah she will.

11. Whatever, I've passed the point of no return.

12. How do I say that in Spanish? No comprende.

13. Got it. Me gusta bailar y cantar. Perfect.

14. I'm hungry.

15. I should really stop eating so much chips and salsa.

16. Chips and salsa. That’s Spanish, right?

17. I’m studying and eating, hooray for multitasking! I’m a genius.

18. I'm so full. Why did I do this to myself?

19. Why didn’t I just take this class in the fall like normal people?

20. Come on. Just get it over with and go have fun.

21. I wonder what I should eat for dinner.

22. Tacos? Yes. More Spanish.

23. Google Translate. Google Translate. Google Translate.

24. I should probably actually learn these words. Google Translate won't be in front of me for the exam.

25. But the exam isn't for another two weeks. Whatever.

26. I wonder what's going on in GroupMe.

27. Okay phone, it's time for airplane mode.

28. Wait, why am I scrolling through Twitter?

29. I think I'm losing my mind.

30. Well, that’s enough for today.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.

1. You're tired of school food and have resorted to surviving off junk food and cereal.

2. Your financial aid/money is running out...and chances are it all went to textbooks and takeout.
