This past weekend the stomach flu hit me like a train. It was sudden but it was also scary because it was the first time I'd been really sick with no one to take care of me. I'm used to someone being there to comfort me and check on me but being an adult does't stop just because you're sick. We've all been there before and if you haven't yet it will happen sooner or later! Here are some of the things I realized after being sick for the first time as an adult.

1. No one is going to rub your back or hold your hair.

This is when you finally realize you're truly alone and have to be independent.

2. You remember all of the things you have to do.

Because being sick doesn't mean responsibilities go away.

3. Every little thing annoys you and there is no one there to bring you back to reality.

Then you remember how stupid the things were that you were getting annoyed at.

4. You have to clean up after yourself.

Which almost makes you sick all over again.

5. You really don't have anyone to depend on and it sucks.

You're lucky if you can find someone to bring you basic necessities or check on you.

6. When you're finally feeling better and there is nothing to eat.

The hunger that follows the 24 hours after being sick is the absolute worst.

7. You're hoping no one walks in to see you in your worst state.

You keep saying "please don't choose to come in at this moment" or "I hope no one can hear me".

8. When you overcome it and you feel almost proud of yourself.

I think if you can get past being sick by yourself you can accomplish anything.

Hopefully you won't ever have to go through it alone but if you do, just know it will be OK and you'll get through it!

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
