Theres a fine line between crazy and sane and for many of us we like to think we flirt with that line all too often. Could it possibly be that we are simply suppressing our natural instinctive thought? The honest to God feelings we are brainwashed into believing NO ONE would ever understand?? I don't even know why I posed it as a question, the answer is yes.
I started fall semester last week and over the summer I somehow forgot how enjoyable being on campus is. It is a feast for your eyes. The people watching is just so entertaining. For a single person however this is like a buffet. Like the hunting grounds of the animal kingdom and the Starbucks in the student center is the watering hole.
Crazy confession #3: "People watching is my favorite hobby."
Its incredibly entertaining and often times amusing. And there you are walking around campus, in your best effort to look like a makeup tutorial from IG or like a guy who simply doesn't care. But you are so HOPING fellow "people watchers" see the effort you put in. People watching is a thing! It is possibly everyones favorite hobby that they do not openly acknowledge or admit.
I happen to be fortunate enough to have a guy in my class who rivals the hotness of Thor and Joe Manganiello; all rolled into one shoulder-lengthed, brunette godlike creature with a perfect build that makes my tongue fall out of my head. For privacy purposes I have nicknamed him The David (as in Michelangelo's famous sculpture) and because I'm not yet sure of his last name but I'm sure its something like HottyMcHotterson or Superman or Dodge or something to that effect. (Its only the second day give me time!) Now David is not his real name, obviously but he has earned it.
While enjoying our break between classes, I spotted the elusive David in the student center and was overly excited to point him out to my partner in crime, Kristen. Kristen and I have very different tastes in men. Like Antarctica and North Pole different. So her "Oh. My. God" response just seals the deal that David is an adonis.
So brings us to craziness confession #4 "We immediately seek out someones flaws who seems too perfect."
"He is so hot, what do you think is wrong with him?"
We were a sight, the two of us, rattling off all the things that made The David perfect, and our quest to find out what his flaw was. Because everyone has a flaw. And it is our mission as peers to find out what that flaw is. It is also our mission as young women in a center of the college buffet to spot flaws in hypothetical, improbable (never impossible) love interests. Nobody is perfect and being imperfect makes you want to know what other peoples imperfections are. Thats not crazy, in fact, I give it the seal of "Normalcy".
