Whether it's one of your favorite classes or one that you have to drag yourself to because of that gosh darn general education class that has nothing to do with your major, we all find our mind wondering at one point or another.
During these slow winding minutes here are some things that we all do:
1. Look at the clock
it's only been 30 seconds since you sat your butt down and the professor hasn't even started to lecture and you're already counting down the minutes until you're ~free~.
2. Take some notes
You're trying to sift through the information that your professor is practically pouring into your direction. They're mixed with stories about his dad's dad doing something great and leaves you wondering why you were put on this earth when you're almost 20 years old, it's 1:30 and you still haven't fed yourself.
3. Shop
I'm pretty sure every student fell into the abyss of shopping online during a class. You start by looking at your emails then you go to your favorite website and then after twenty minutes you're on Amazon, looking at stuff you don't need nor want-it's just a distraction.
4. Look at the clock again
30 minutes have passed and why are you still here? Why did you decide to come? You could've been more comfortable in bed-still not taking notes, watching reruns of Jersey Shore.
5. Tune back in
Something little caught your attention and know you're questioning if it's still important. Should I write it down? Yes but, if I just remembered it from two minutes ago I'll remember it when I need to.
6. Ask your friend what's going on
"Do you know?" "No, do you know?" "No." This might be the shortest, most comforting conversation you could possibly have with a complete stranger.
7. The clock, again.
8. Trying to comprehend what you may or may not have learned
walking out, you're happy but also scared because you have absolutely no idea what was just talked about.
However, as this happens sometimes, 9 times out of 10 you're actually focused on what you need to be and this is just a hiccup. As for my mom and dad- I do pay attention most of the time, don't you worry.
