14 Thoughts Every College Student Has While Taking Summer Classes

In This Article:

Ah, summer! Time for soaking up the sun, hitting the beach with friends, achieving that perfect golden tan, and oh yeah homework. Summer classes can definitely put a damper on your summer mood but are a necessity that many of us must endure. It may seem like everyone else is having the best summer ever while you've got your nose stuck in a book. But its worth it! Get ahead on your credits and GET OUT IN FOUR YEARS. And while yes it's a necessity, that doesn't mean it isn't a pain! Here are thoughts all college students have who are enrolled in summer classes.

The class is online, I can totally do this

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Online classes are such a joke. I don't have to go into a boring lecture and can do it all on my own time! Lets do this

Wait that means I have to manage my time and teach myself

Soooo maybe this is going to be harder than I thought. All these different deadlines and due dates are going to add up quick! PLUS no lecture means I am left to my own devices to understand this material.

Seriously assignments are due twice a week?!

Okay this just seems a bit excessive. I mean don't they realize that it's SUMMER?! Cut me some slack here please. Summer is for sleeping in and sitting poolside not school work.

AND there are multiple assignments due on those days?!

Giphy

You're kidding! I have three assignments due on Thursday that each have 30 questions oh and then just three days later I have four more assignments due. Is summer over yet?

It's fine. Everything's fine.

I paid hundreds of dollars to take this class, I just gotta . suck it up, do the work and it'll all be over soon.

Google is officially my new BFF

Ah the internet; home to a plethora of information and entertainment has come to my rescue once again.

Okay maybe this isn't Soooooooo bad

Hey- I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it! Typical me, getting all worked up and worried over nothing.

Never mind! Its BAD

This is impossible. There- I've said it, I give up!

I am NEVER going to use this

To be fair, I'm pretty sure we have all thought this during some class in our academic career. But come on, I am a business major, why in the world do I need to know the acceleration and momentum of an object?!

I can do this only (#) weeks left

Giphy

Gotta 'Just Keep Swimming, swimming, swimming' Wow I want to go to the beach

WAIT THE FINAL IS IN PERSON?!

Giphy

This is quite possibly the worst thing that has ever happened. Not to be dramatic or anything, but I am fully prepared to fail.

I've got this

Giphy

Worried? Me? Never! I've just spent the last ten weeks of my summer doing this stuff. Time to go knock this final out of the park

Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeedom

CLASSES ARE OVER! SUMMER TIME HERE I COME

And now time to move back to school

Giphy

Well so much for a "Summer break" But now its time to head back to college and see all my friends again!

All in all, summer classes can be a bit of a bear, but we all suffer through it. Piles of homework and quizzes probably aren't what you pictured for your summer, and yet here we are. But it isn't impossible, you can get through this.

Until next summer!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
