5 Thoughts Everyone Has When They Come Back From Break

I miss spring break so much.

Spring break is an incredible time that provides students with a much-needed break in the semester. However, returning to the reality of school can be seriously difficult. In the one week I was away, it feels like all my teachers made a pact to give out more work, tests, and papers than ever before. Plus I had about 60 unread emails that I really, probably should have already responded to.

Bottom line, I am seriously missing my break.

So, if you are like me, you are feeling these all too real spring break blues.

1. Forgot how to study

Only away from the library for a very short period of time, but I always feel like I cannot study post break. It's like my brain got so used to doing nothing, it is shocked when I actually have to focus again.

2. OVEREATING

Break is over, and that means your spring break diet is too! Can be both a good and bad thing. You are eating everything you want, but sort of feel really sick at the same time.

3. Getting sick

Not sure why this happens, but I always think people get a cold when they come back to school. Probably because living conditions aren't always the cleanest.

4. TOO much work

Midterms somehow end up being the week before and the week after break. Really rude if you ask me!

5. Low-key really happy

Spring break is great. You get to relax, see family and friends. But, really who doesn't love coming back to see your school friends and hear all about what they did when you were apart?

So, spring break, I really miss you, but I'll be okay!

Welcome back to reality everyone!

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
