The holidays are over and it's time to go back to school.
The time between New Year's and the first day back to class, I experience a lot of thoughts and emotions before I make the trek back to my college apartment.


1. I can't wait to be in my bed

2. I can't wait to have alone time

3. I can't wait to go to all my favorite food places

4. I can't wait to come home from a bar and not be greeted by a family member

5. I can't wait to take a shower for an hour and not be judged for being hungover

6. I can't wait to have parent free - unsupervised - fun

7. I can't wait to not be judged for my eating, drinking and dressing habits.


8. I can't wait to see my friends

9. I can't wait to lose all the weight I gained over the holidays

10. I'm going to miss my family telling me goodnight

11. I'm going to miss constantly being around my family

12. I'm going to miss my favorite places from home

13. I'm going to miss the family home cooked meals

14. I'm going to miss my mom playing with my hair when I am ridiculously hungover

15. I'm going to miss my family making good fun of my eating, drinking and dressing habits.

16. I'm going to miss my friends from home

17. I'm going to miss the beach

18. I'm going to miss having zero responsibilities and having my family treat me like I was a kid


19. I'm excited for syllabus week


20. I'm not excited for the ridiculous amount of money I'm going to have to drop on texts books

21. I'm looking forward to all of the socials, date functions, happy hours, waltzes, concerts and frat parties


22. I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine

23. I'm hopeful this will be the best semester thus far

24. I'm praying 2017 will be better than 2016
