WARNING: Major Spoilers Ahead. Don't read if you didn't watch.

The Gilmore Girls Revival was a highly anticipated worldwide event, and let me just say, it was worth it (mostly). Of course, there were some parts that I wish didn’t waste valuable screen time like the Stars Hollow musical preview… what was that and why did it waste twenty precious minutes?!

Regardless, I’m thankful the revival exists; still, I was hoping all questions would be answered, but instead, we’re left with another cliff hanger and the great debate of 2016: Who is the father of Rory’s child?

Honestly, I assumed it was Logan’s—much to my dismay because I’m team Jess—but after talking with a friend, she brought up how the ‘Wookiee’ could be the father.

It makes sense. It’s so random and out of character that Rory would sleep with a random guy, so for it to be written in the script leads me to wonder that perhaps the Wookiee is the father.

Though I was completely shocked to find out Rory was pregnant, I’ll admit it was a nice ‘full-circle’ moment. I imagine Rory with a blue eyed daughter, perhaps named Lorelai, and obviously her mother, and Emily helping her out. While it’s a comforting thought, I wish we had gotten the scene where Rory is in the hospital, baby girl in arms, next to a beaming Lorelai. Perhaps my overactive imagination is running amok, but wouldn’t it be nice?

While we’re on the subject of Rory Gilmore, I have mixed emotions about her as far as character development goes. I get her existential crisis—believe me, it’s highly relatable— but it just felt highly unlike her. I hated how she was with Paul and how no one seemed to remember him… again, highly unlike Rory. And the fact that she cheated on him with Logan perturbed me a bit. I’ve also had mixed emotions about Logan since the original Gilmore Girls, but I liked him in the Revival—I just didn’t like how he was cheating on his fiancee, even if it was with our beloved Rory.

If one good thing came from Rory’s upheaval, it was the book. I nearly bawled my eyes out when Lorelai told her to make the title ‘Gilmore Girls’—drop the word ‘the.’ (Nice touch, Amy Sherman-Palladino.)

The best part, in my opinion, is obviously Luke and Lorelai’s wedding. I mean, FINALLY. I’ve been waiting for that moment since season 1, episode 1. Luke’s little freak-out about thinking Lorelai was going to leave him was kind of adorable, as I adore a vulnerable Luke considering it’s a rare occurrence. I secretly had hoped they’d have a kid, but I’ve accepted that ship has long sailed.

Also as far as character development goes, I think it was great (and somewhat heartbreaking) to watch Emily deal with Richard’s death. She seemed to have evolved the most, and while it was definitely surprising she ended up working at a museum, I was oddly satisfied with it.

Finally, I can’t finish this piece without professing my total adoration of Paris Geller. I loathed her in the first few seasons of the show, but it was refreshing to see how she and Rory developed such a unique and close bond. I love her feistiness and I love how she ended up doing exactly what she wanted to do. Her job was perfect for her. The scene at Chilton where she and Rory were in the bathroom together, freaking out about Tristan (by the way, where was Chad Michael Murray?!) was hysterical. I won’t lie, though, I wish she and Doyle didn’t get divorced, but hey, at least their kids were adorable.

I could go on and on about the Gilmore Girl Revival but these were my incessant thoughts and opinions that I just had to share with fellow GG fans.

I’ll continue to bite my nails, hoping we’ll get another season; I’m just not ready to say goodbye.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
