Thoughts Of The Girl Who Hates Shopping

Yes, we do exist.

If you are one of the people who puts every girl under the stereotype of a shopaholic, you are very wrong because SURPRISE, not every girl likes to shop. In fact some hate it. Like myself. Now, don't get me wrong. I love clothes, shoes, and accessories-I love it all. I just hate all the walking through stores, trying clothes on, digging through racks, searching for coupons part. Sitting comfortably on a couch listening to music, while browsing through online store websites is more my style. All it takes is a couple clicks, typing in a few numbers, and bam. Clothes are on their way to my house. Didn't even have to leave the couch. Unfortunately, online shopping still has it's downfalls. You do not have the liberty of trying on your desired purchase, so you are at risk of it not fitting and then having to actually walk into the dreaded store for a return. So, for you misled people who truly think all girls live, eat, and breathe shopping, let me give you some insight on what we are really thinking while perusing through aisles and aisles of clothes.

1. Yes, there's a brief moment of seeing all the possibilities of purchases and feeling like we're in heaven.

Clothes and clothes galore!!

2. But as we start looking at all the types of jeans, we begin to get stressed.

Super skinny, skinny, high waist, boot-cut, flare, straight, boyfriend, mid rise, low-rise, high-rise. So many options and only so much time.

3. Trying on all the jeans is a whole other story.

Some are too tight, some are too frumpy. Some have awkward length and some have too many holes. Putting on and taking off 10+ pairs of jeans is exhausting and depressing when we can't find the pair that works.

4. But then we find THE pair. They fit great and are comfortable.

Until we realize we only have one shirt in our wardrobe that will go with this awesome pair of pants. It makes us annoyed, but we buy them anyway.

5. Now, onto tops.

At this point, we are tired from changing clothes so many times and annoyed that we only came out of it with one pair of pants. The good thing is tops are easier to shop for, so we begin filling our arms with sweaters, cardigans, long sleeved tops and short sleeved tops.

6. We spend another HOUR in the changing room.

On top of being tired and annoyed, we are now getting hungry and thirsty. It's really a dangerous combination.

7. We are happy with our pile only to realize the final price will be well over our price range.

So we go through the process of picking and choosing, saying goodbye to a top that looked super cute but is just too much money.

8. Finally, we walk towards the checkout line and it's a mile long.

And at the very front is the typical customer who is complaining about the price of every item that is being rung up.

9. Our feet hurt from standing, our stomachs growl in pain, and our heads hurt from lack of water.

We make it the register and find the final price of our clothes is still over our limit. We buy them anyway because we are too tired to figure out what to toss.

10. We make it to our car and fall into our seat exhausted.

Sure we got great clothes, but we can't help but wonder if that whole shopping process was really worth it.

We decide that the next trip won't be for a while or we will just take the risk and online shop because that trip was just too taxing.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
