13 Thoughts You Have When You Lack The Luxury Of Air Conditioning In The Dog Days Of Summer

The hot weather may only last around two more months after school starts. After living somewhere with air conditioning all summer, you get used to feeling cold air blow on your face. But when you move away to college and your dorm/house/apartment has no air conditioning, here are some thoughts that may run through your mind.

1. It's hot

Sometimes it's cooler outside than it is inside.

2. When's fall?

One of the few times I'm asking myself when it is going to get cold outside.

3. It's humid

Heat is one thing and humidity is a complete other thing.

4. I took air conditioning for granted my entire life

What was life like when there was AC in my life?

5. Which of my friends can I hang out with that has air conditioning?

Good thing all of my friends have AC.

6. I'm going to live in the fridge

It's so nice and cool in there.

7. How much is a portable air conditioner?

I need some cool air blowing on my face.

8. It's so hot I can't sleep

Anyone ever experience this? RIP to my sleep schedule 'til October.

9. There's no point of putting on makeup if I'm just going to sweat it all off

Sweating as I get ready.

10. I need to take the coldest shower

Honestly, cold showers help.

11. How did the people do this in the olden days?

They didn't have AC either.

12. My electric bill is going to skyrocket from my portable air conditioner

So I bought one, but now my electric bill is going to be over the top.

13. I need blankets but I don't want anything on me

I want some sort of weight on my body but it's just too hot.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
