Perhaps the biggest shakeup not only in the NBA, but in professional sports since LeBron’s “decision,” is Kevin Durant’s decision to join the best in the West Golden State Warriors. Signing a two-year $54.3 million contract to form what, on paper, appears like the best big four in NBA history with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
Having already received an enormous amount of backlash from his decision, from the burning of his jersey, a diss song, as well a Stephen A. Smith rant, the initial waves of this move caused ripples through the sports world. Perhaps those affected most where the fans who where left with so much on there mind.
1. This can not be fair.
A team that just had the most wins in a season just added a top two player. Curry, Thompson, Green and Durant oh my. How is this even allowed to happen?
2. So, basically, the Warriors are off limits in NBA.
Just like Bo Jackson in the Tecmo Bowl the Golden State Warriors are going to be off limit in 2K. Even for 2K this lineup of players is a little hard to believe.
3. How could he leave Oklahoma City?
Oklahoma City was known for one thing and one thing only. That was Kevin Durant, now what happens now that he is gone. How could he leave the Thunder faithful.
4. Pick up Russell Westbrook on fantasy right away.
This is now Russell's teams which means big things for fantasy owners. If you thought he put up big numbers before just watch out now.
5. This is even bigger than LeBron leaving Cleveland.
As good as the LeBron-led Miami Heat, they had no where near as much talent and potential as these warriors. LeBron also was not coming off a season that very nearly saw him win a title.
6. If you can't beat them then join them.
Losing to the Warriors in the playoffs then joining them a few months later. No saying seems more true.
7. Is the NBA still rigged?
Hey, Ayesha, what do you think?
8. ESPN is going to be all Durant and Warriors now.
LeBron-center may have to be put on hold for quite a bit.
9. No repeat for Cleveland.
But Cleveland finally became relevant, this is not fair to them.
10. The West just got so much better.
Durant on the Thunder, the Mavericks are getting Warriors leftovers (Barnes and Bogut) and the rest of the West is starting to round itself out.
11. I hate KD.
How could he do this?
12. I love the NBA.
Just another day in the life of an NBA fan.
