Thoughts On Music

All music is important.

Thoughts On Music

Passed the vocals, the instruments, the special effects, you get the lyrics.

To me, the lyrics are the soul purpose for the music that comes from the artist.

Music is the inspiration of your mind, body and soul. Whether it be classical music, alternative, country, R&B, etc. Every type of music is there to make someone else feel better. Or to make others feel like they aren't alone, or even just feel good music that makes you want to dance. I am not much into the country or rap kind of music, but that doesn't mean I am going to look down upon music. Because in the end, every style, every note that someone creates, is special to someone else.

I prefer the music that actually has a story, or a meaning. I am not bashing on them but SOME songs, the ones that are all sorts of vulgar, and sexual lyrics don't really make sense to me, but on the other hand, they are fun to listen too. Most have a really cool vibe that makes people happy, or like they want to get up and dance with a stranger.

But you know, the one thing I don't understand is just why people feel the need to hate on others people's music tastes. I know I've been told that I have AWFUL music tastes because I listen to the kind of music that makes people want to mosh. And for those who don't know what "Moshing" is, It is to dance to rock music in a violent way involving jumping up and down and deliberately colliding with other dancers. Which is sometimes dangerous. I actually have almost been punched in the face by a grown man (not on purpose he was in a fight with another grown man ), but thankfully my wonderful boyfriend pulled me out-of-the-way.

But why would you be so violent at a concert? Honestly, I have no idea why we mosh, all i know is that everybody gets really into the music, and it just happens.

The way I see music, is that it is an outlet. A go to when people are feeling pretty much any emotion. We all may not agree on the type of music that is better, or worse. To me, all music is important. It can help the sick get better. It can bring people together. I've met so many people just from listening to similar artists.

Music means happiness, music means sadness.

I know that kind of contradicts itself. But think about it. There is TONS of music out there that can make people happy, but what about the songs that make people sad. I don't think the purpose is to be sad. I think the purpose is to tell a story. It may be sad, but it is the artist wanting to tell a story. It could be their story, or just a made up one. And I think that is beautiful.

I find it absolutely breathtaking how an individual, or a group of people can sit down, and create a work of art that brings people together. That brings them a career.

To me, music means everything. It is happiness, it is sadness. Its confusion, and love. It's dangerous, and its notorious. All you gotta figure out now, is what music means to you.

College is a crazy, beautiful, amazing whirlwind. It is highly popularized in television and movies, but not necessarily in the most accurate way. Yes, there's frats, dingy dorms, raging house parties—but there's also a lot that people fail to mention.

1. If you thought that you knew how to study, you're wrong.

All of your classes aren't taught every day, so professors aren't on your case constantly about reading and memorizing material. Once you get back that "questionable" first exam grade, you'll kick it into high gear and figure out what works for you

Girl With Bleached Hair
Tumblr

I've been a bleach blonde for over a year now, and let me tell you, it is a lifestyle. More hair appointments, longer showers, and special shampoo. But it is totally worth it!

1. Mentally preparing yourself to convince your hair dresser that white is the way to go.

2. Or the anxiety of what could go wrong by bleaching your hair at home.

3. You could either become a ginger

4. Or a pixie

5. The face you make in the mirror when you take off your towel to unveil the perfect white strands.

6. Taking a million selfies the day you bleached it, because you know your roots will be back in literally 2 days.

7. Having to get bangs or a big chop because your hair is so damaged.

8. Having orange highlights in between touch-ups.

9. Going out for a drink afterwards to debut your updated look.

Despite the struggles, you love your platinum blonde hair! You make sure Instagram knows it, too. You don't need a filter, because the color is flawless by itself!

I've been at this college thing for almost three and a half years, and while I thought that high school was truly the lowest point of my existence, I'm beginning to realize that it was a walk in the park. Like, I miss the days when the biggest white lie I told my parents was my made up excuse about being late for fourth period. These days, the white lies are a tad more complex, and as ashamed as I am to admit it, I've definitely told a few of these.
