8 Thoughts Every Girl Has While On Her Period, Every Single Month

If you’re a girl, you know the struggle. If you’re a guy, be thankful you don’t.

It is general knowledge that girls get their periods once a month (if you didn’t know this, you’re either too young or didn’t pay attention in biology). What is not so popularly known is the battle this couple of days represent in every girl’s life. Some of us have it harder than others. For example, I completely envy my roommate because her struggle is a level 4 — on a 1-10 scale — while mine is a level 9.

Girls, I hope this list will help you find consolation and teach you that you are not alone. And boy readers, be thankful you don’t have to deal with these things every month.

1. Perfect timing! (sarcasm is mandatory)

Spring break starts tomorrow? You’ll get your period today. You’re going on a road trip? Period! Are you wearing white jeans? Period! Are you planning on spending the day at the pool with a cute boy? Period!

2. I might as well die

Some of us deal with a lot of pain. Death can’t be much more painful. It's the 21st century, someone invent a pill to get rid of this ASAP. Where are my engineers? Come up with a pill for those of us who are 100% sure don’t want kids. Help us get rid of the suffering a couple of decades before. (Just an idea though.)

3. Am I really crying because of this?

Cute puppy? You start crying because it’s too cute. The sun is shining? You start crying because it’s too bright. You saw a T.V. commercial? You start crying just because.

4. OMG am I leaking?!

Yes, this might be TMI, but this is in our brain 24/7 during those days. Tampons and pads are not 100% trustworthy. They fail us every once in a while, and we hate it.

5. Why do I have to deal with this but my boyfriend doesn’t?

We know it’s nature, but it’s still unfair.

6. Don’t talk to me. Don’t look at me.

Once again, we might cry. Or just yell at you, we never know.

7. How many days until I’m done with this struggle?

You start counting the days until your cycle is done. I personally do this as soon as I get it. And then again on the second day. And on the third one.

8. Where’s the chocolate? And the ice cream? And the chips?

Food, food, food, food.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
