1. Oh, this nice

first, you're just enjoying your last day of relaxation, soaking up the final precious moments of freedom while you can, right?

2. Uh Oh

Then reality hits. I mean, you knew that school starts tomorrow, but now you really, truly know that school is starting tomorrow.

3. Maybe if I ignore it, it will go away

Time to repress reality and continue relaxing for a couple more hours! Unfortunately, ignoring the fact that school begins tomorrow won't actually keep it from happening.

4. My relaxation is TAINTED

Except now that you've remembered that school is starting tomorrow, relaxing doesn't exactly have the same happiness to it. It's been tainted with the knowledge that these are your last few hours of freedom, and they're slowly slipping through your hands.

5. Fine, time to face the music

Finally, you decide to just embrace the fleeting quality of spring breaks and accept the fact that school begins tomorrow. After denying it for so long, this stage may be difficult to go through. Reality hits hard.

6. I'm not prepared!!

You've just now realized that you are in NO WAY prepared for tomorrow. Mentally, physically, academically... And speaking of academically:

7. Shoot, I had homework

You had a whole week to work on your homework. You swore to yourself you'd finish it all the first few days of spring break. Or, even better, you'd actually work on that 10-page essay the way teachers recommend, with a little bit accomplished each day. But did you actually do that? No, you didn't, did you? And now you're in the academic sprint of shame.

8. When's the next break?

Halfway through homework, you run out of steam and scour your school's academic calendar for a hint of hope. If you're lucky, you'll get at least a 3-day weekend for Easter. If you're not, say sayanara to scuba-diving until summer!

9. I can do this

In the absence of upcoming breaks, you desperately try to enact some positive self-talk, convincing yourself that you can do this. You can finish a week's worth of homework in one evening! You can make it until summer without another break! You can finish this semester with a 4.0! You can!

And finally...

10. I need another spring break

After you've finished your homework, moved back into your dorm, picked out your outfit for tomorrow, and done anything else you need to do to prepare for the day ahead, you're exhausted. Who can blame you for needing another break?

Good luck to everyone heading back to school after a much-needed spring break! Remember: you CAN do this!

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
